Project Mosaic

Project Mosaic is a dynamic charity that teaches young people to be tolerant of those coming from a different background.

It was set up in 2008 in memory of Dave Fontana, one of the 343 firefighters that died on 9-11 while helping to rescue some 28,000 people from the World Trade Towers in New York.

Dave’s cousin, Kat Callo, is a founding trustee at the charity. Project Mosaic’s "Global Citizen Programme" sends inspiring speakers from immigrant backgrounds into schools and youth clubs to give practical advice on higher education, job hunting, making business contacts and career building and the programme also posts on the Internet filmed Global Citizen interviews.

The Project Mosaic Lecture Series provides free talks about promoting interfaith and intercultural tolerance, multi-ethnic good citizenship and integration of immigrant communities, and about combating group prejudice and extremism.

In July 2010 Project Mosaic held a "Bollywood Bash with Pakistani Pizzazz", an evening of Classical Indian Dance, Bollywood and Punjabi Bhangra in Notting Hill Gate that got everyone dancing. A few months earlier, Project Mosaic held a "Muslim Jewish Music Jam" with Muslim and Jewish British rappers, hip hop, bebop and Klezmer musicians. For information, please visit
