No Second Night Out - Homeless Link, London

12 Oct 2011 (All day)

Organised by Homeless Link, this practical one-day event will share effective real-life solutions to end rough sleeping.

In the 21st century Britain no-one should be destitute on our streets. This belief is shared by the Government who outlined their plans in 'Vision to end rough sleeping:No second night out''. This strategy builds on the progress made over the last two decades by local councils and homelessness charities. Homeless Link want to build on this even further, to ensure there is a quick and effective response from services in the area to help an individual off the streets, should someone find themselves sleeping rough.

Homeless Link seek support for their Pledge:

  • No one should arrive on the streets
  • No one should spend a second night on the streets
  • No one should be living on the streets
  • No one should return to the streets

The event will share expertise in what approaches have worked so far and explore the role that each local authority and each homelessness charity can play in ending rough sleeping nationally.
