Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship: Social Entrepreneurship and Cross Cultural Network – 2011.
The Fellowship aims to bring together Muslim and Jewish social entrepreneurs from the United Kingdom, France and the United States with an interest in fostering a culture of mutual respect and cross-cultural dialogue among Jewish and Muslim communities
Thirty social entrepreneurs mainly from Muslim and Jewish backgrounds from the UK, France and the US will be selected for the programme. National juries will choose the Fellows based on their commitment and ability to generate sustainable social impact in their respective societies.
Chosen Fellows will also show a proven ability in acquiring business skills and knowledge derived from the humanities and they will all share a common aspiration to bring change in a variety of fields, ranging from education, environment, the arts and healthcare. Fellows are also required to demonstrate a shared purpose in using social entrepreneurship as a new bridge across the cultural divide.
This two-week programme will be conducted from July 15, 2011 – July 31, 2011 at the University of Cambridge’s, Judge Business School in partnership with the Centre for History and Economics, King’s College, Cambridge.
Professors from the University of Cambridge will deliver the academic content and design follow up workshops. In addition, Professors from a leading American business school will be invited to participate. Facilitators will conduct seminars and workshops on various aspects of cross-cultural dialogue. Significant resources will be devoted to classroom lectures and individual projects.
This is a highly interactive and intensive programme. Prior to the start, incoming fellows will be required to complete an appropriate assessment tool. This will give valuable feedback towards understanding their role as an agent of change. Each Fellow will receive individual coaching to interpret assessment results that will enable him/her to apply this information to achieve personal and professional goals.
Besides academic and business training, the programme will also encompass extracurricular cultural activities in Cambridge and London.
